I have been playing music as a tango-dj for several years now.
I play mostly traditional tango, ranging from the ’20s to the ’70s, but also new tango such as nuevo, mixed with neo & non-tango (oriental, putumayo, jazzy).
I alternate tandas with special cortina’s that indicate the change of atmosphere. I use visuals so dancers will see titles, photos, and film images that belong to the theme. The type of music also depends on what is requested at a location. That is often 100% traditional but can also be a mix … or pure neo.
