Friday night Workshop with Lucas and Déborah: Transition freely from the walk into complex figuresFriday night Workshop with Lucas and Déborah:

On 10 May and 14 June, Lucas Malec and Déborah van Cauter will briefly stray from the path of musicality to return to it at a later date. In these last two workshops of this season, Lucas and Déborah will show us that the transition from walking to more complex figures can be a joy:
Often in tango we walk because someone told us we are supposed to, but when we understand the essence of the walk is part of every figure, we won’t have to momentarily sacrifice comfort and connection for any movement, no matter the complexity of it. Ane when we find the anchored feeling of the walk every moment is exciting and rich in sensations for your partner regardless of the simplicity.

This workshop can be followed as a couple and costs 15 euros per person. No registration required.

The dates for the next workshops are 22 March, 10 May and 14 June 2024

Lucas (Buenos Aires) and Déborah (Belgium) have worked intensively to develop a pedagogical vision of tango from an artistic and social perspective. They combine their knowledge of the body and music with a strong mind set and attitude, to create a tasty and comfortable dance which reflects the essence of the tango music and the tango salon. Their elegance and vitality appear to be natural thanks to a precise and qualitative technical work, necessary to find the pleasure and depth in the dance.

Lucas Malec and Déborah van Cauter

Lucas is a dancer, musician, and teacher. From Buenos Aires, he moved to Amsterdam where he graduated as a Master in Composition at the Conservatory, and hosts the milonga La Yumba every week. He embraces a “culture of social tango”, and in his lesson creates a bridge between what we can express with words and what can only be felt in the flesh.

Déborah has been dancing tango for over 20 years and teaching for 10. Her knowledge of the inner power within each of us and the connection between body and mind make her an inspiration to dancers of all levels. She embodies the perfect example of an intense and yet delicate dance, and subtly accompanies you through your tango experience, with an uncompromised sense of musicality.

Together they travel through cities and countries teaching, performing and particularly enjoying the local tango salons, and 22 March we may welcome them again.
